Finding The Way In Jail

The Finding The Way In Jail program provides incarcerated individuals with a safe space for open and honest discussions about life, faith, and decision-making. Through 24 folders (or units), participants are encouraged to engage in self-reflection, take responsibility for their actions, and draw their own conclusions about life changes they will take. Finding The Way In Jail aims to foster personal growth and recovery as it helps participants build the mindset and confidence they will need to successfully reenter society upon their release.

"No matter what you are going through in life, you will always make it out the other side. You have to teach yourself that you always have to keep faith, hope, and keep believing.”
- Resident from North County Correctional Facility

Finding The Way In Juvie

Finding The Way In Juvie is a 12-folder (or unit) program created for youth facing challenging circumstances. It offers tools to support self-reflection and independent decision-making. It is not intended to preach, but rather to encourage the youth to draw their own conclusions and choose different paths.

"I see a person who has made a lot of mistakes. My past defines who I am currently. I see a person who is different, but since I was charged with crimes in the past, they see me as a thug and a no-good criminal in society. I feel great about myself but sometimes I feel bad for who I am. A change I would like for myself is to find the way to goodness and righteousness.” - Resident from Barry J. Nidorf Juvenile Hall

Finding The Way To Recovery

Finding the Way To Recovery was created in collaboration with individuals experienced in recovery and inspired by the 12 steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. This 24-folder (or unit) program supports individuals in their fight against addiction. Through thoughtful reading and personal feedback, participants are provided with effective tools to reflect on their challenges and make progress toward recovery.

"Hope is a start, yes, it keeps the dream of something better alive and by that sliver of hope, the dream can be a reality. I remember through my addiction and struggles I hoped for something better. One instance I wanted to share is when I asked for a sign cause I started to doubt and was struggling, and Mr. Gonzalo De Vivero himself showed up at my door, I kid you not the next day. We shared testimonies and had an interchange of faith, it was a miracle. I am willing to embrace hope and work hard.” -Resident from Men Central Jail
